After a couple of weeks of on road commuting, I finally got round to putting together the off road alternative. I was slightly concerned that the route from the new house would be too long to make it a regular ride, but as I seem to miss out a 2nd climb if anything it is easier than my previous off road commute and almost quicker than the less direct road route.
I’ve also been practising some skills stuff in the local woods. Mostly drops, making sure I’m spotting the take off point, pushing through the drop and then looking ahead not at the lip. I’m still fighting the tendency to keep rubber on the ground but it is good to know what I’m meant to be doing it even if it’s still not coming naturally.
Also tried the big bomb hole which was fun, and did some cheeky trails around the place, I much prefer these to the set pieces and my ability is slowly improving.
